07 Sep 2011	Twiggy has found a home! We are pleased to announce that our sponsored dog, Twiggy, has found a wonderful home. Four Paws (animal welfare society) can be contacted for details about the orphans they currently have available for adoption.
26 Mar 2011	FurBall has sponsored a dog at Four Paws (animal welfare society) On a recent visit to Bapsfontein squatter camp (outside Bronkhorstspruit), Four Paws discovered that a large section of Bapsfontein had been demolished and that the people had moved away and left their dogs behind! The remaining residents told them that they had all been informed that they had to move out soon. Four Paws managed to catch 14 dogs and puppies and took them to their shelter. Most of them were very traumatized and bewildered, and they had to use their dog traps to catch them. They realized that they simply would not be able to accommodate all the Bapsfontein dogs and contacted CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) who in turn contacted Wetnose, and in a joint effort they went into Bapsfontein on 27 January, and managed to catch another 30 dogs and puppies! They give their sincere thanks to Wetnose for taking these dogs into their shelter. Please make a donation! Four Paws appeals for help with funds - all the dogs are being vaccinated, de-wormed, sterilized and treated, and are being given blankets, food, bowls, etc! FurBall has proudly adopted Twiggy, and will be seeing to her welfare with a donation of R500 per month which will cover her food, keep, vaccinations, sterilization and veterinary bills.
